Program Description:

The University of British Columbia (UBC) was established in 1908.  It is a public research university, with the main campus on Point Grey Peninsula about ten kilometres from Vancouver city.  The second campus, acquired in 2005, is about 390 kms east of Vancouver in the Okanagan Valley at Kelowna. 

The Universtiy is one of Canada’s leading research universities and is consistently ranked among the top 40 in the world. It has approximately 57,000 students from across Canada and 140 countries around the world.  Currently, UBC has twelve faculties at the Vancouver campus and seven at the Okanagan campus.  There are Schools of Architecture, Business and Economics and a College of Health Sciences made up of various schools.


Did you know...

UBC began as the McGill University College of British Columbia, in connection with McGill University in Montréal (also an exchange partner), and is the oldest university in British Columbia.  It became independent in 1915 and, at that time adopted its current name.

UBC is a Universitas 21 member.
