Montaigne University of Bordeaux is a public university in Bordeaux. It used to be known as Michel de Montaigne University - Bordeaux III, but adopted its current name on 1 January 2014, after the other three universities in Bordeaux (Bordeax I, II, and IV) amalgamated to form the University of Bordeaux.

Did you know...

Michel de Montaigne (1533 – 1592) was one of the most influential writers of the French Renaissance, and considered to be the founder of modern skepticism. He became famous for his effortless ability to merge serious intellectual exercises with casual anecdotes and autobiography and his works contain, to this day, some of the most widely influential essays ever written.
