Program Description:

University of TrentoTrento

Founded in 1962, the University of Trento, Università degli Studi di Trento (UNITN), is quite a young institution, especially when compared to other Italian institutions, some of which are over a thousand years old. The University has approximately 15,000 students over ten departments and three centres.

Trento is a city of about 120,000 people in the North-East of Italy. It is about one hour to Lake Garda and a little over two hours to the cities of Padua and Venice. It is located within an easy weekend-trip distance to Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia and even the mini-state of Liechtenstein.

Did you know...

Another name for Trentino, of which Trento is the capital, is South-Tyrol. This comes from the time when it was part of Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Austrian/German historical influence in Trentino is still strong.
