Program Description:

Catholic University of Louvain

The Catholic University of Louvain, Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), is Belgium’s largest French-speaking university, located in Louvain-la-Neuve, a university town with a population of around 20,000 and situated 20km southeast of Brussels. The rapid means of transport put most European capitals in less than three hours from the university town.

Did you know...

The city of Louvain-la-Neuve was purposely built to house the University after its inception. In 1968 the Catholic University of Leuven split into the Dutch-speaking Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), which remained in Leuven, and the French-speaking Université Catholique de Louvain, which relocated to Louvain-la-Neuve. The two universities are distinctly different and should not be confused with one another.
