Aarhus University - January School

Since 1999, Aarhus University has run a January School for business students at bachelor level.  The group of students attending the course mainly come from Australian universities.  The program consists of three subjects: Branding and Advertising in Complex MarketsClimate Law – International and EU Law in Context, and Danish and European Business in a Global Perspective.  Each subject is worth a total of 10 ECTS and consists of a mixture of both lectures, classroom workshops, discussions and exercises.  In addition to attending lectures and other classroom activities, students are expected to prepare according to their instructor's guidelines - both prior to arrival and during the program.  For more information, click here.

Dates

Arrival and departure dates are anticipated to be within a few days of these official school dates.

How much does it cost?*
The Aarhus University January School is open to students as exchange only.  A maximum of 15 places are available).  Exchange students pay their usual tuition fees to the University of Melbourne.  They will only pay housing and other program costs to Aarhus University up-front.

It is suggested that students allow A$1,095 (€813) to cover the following:

  • Social Program Activities - €106-133
  • Housing - €427
  • Meals - €200
  • Transport - €40
  • Books - €40

*Costs do not include airfares; interested students are responsible for funding their associated travel to get to Aarhus University. Australian rates are as at 24 July 2017.

How much credit can be earned?
Each subject in the January School is worth a total of 10 ECTS which means that students can earn 12.5 University of Melbourne points from their successful completion of one subject.  Students may only take one of the three subjects on offer.  You must, however, get your overseas study plan approved for credit to your degree here before leaving Melbourne, and students are encouraged to have multiple subjects approved to provide themselves with maximum flexibility.
