AIM

The AIM Overseas Experience

At AIM Overseas they believe that overseas study transforms the lives of university students. AIM Overseas is an approved provider of study abroad programs for University of Melbourne students.


Dates

Dates vary according to the various program offerings; students will only be approved to undertake programs that do not conflict with any of our teaching periods or any of our examination periods.

*Approvals are based on the type of credit that has been recommended previously and is to be used as a guide only. Select "known subjects" in the Study Planner to see details of the level and type of credit previously recommended - if you want a different level or type of credit, you can select the subject and change those details before submitting the subject for approval.

How much does it cost?

These options are open to students only as study abroad.  Participants are responsible for financing this experience.  Please read each program description on the AIM Overseas webpage for a full breakdown of associated costs.
 

How much credit can be earned?

Credit toward your degree may be possible for participants undertaking this experience.  The credit that could be awarded would be between 12.5 and 25 points in consultation with the Course Planning Team at Stop 1.  Please complete the study planner (the link to this is in the application) ensuring you are selecting the "Create Overseas Plan" button to proceed.

How do I proceed?

You are required to organise your application independently through AIM Overseas.  You must meet the usual eligibility criteria to participate in this program. To begin:

Step 1: to begin, apply using the application link above. You may commence your application with AIM Overseas at the same time as your Melbourne application. AIM Overseas programs are highly competitive and fill up fast so be sure to get your application in as early as possible here
Step 2: credit toward your degree may be possible for participants undertaking AIM Overseas programs. Please complete the study planner (the link to this is in the application) ensuring you are selecting the "Create Overseas Plan" button to proceed. 
Step 3: when your application has been assessed and approved by Stop 1, you can complete your application with AIM Overseas directly. Please do not pay a deposit for your program until you are sure you will gain credit for the studies you are doing.
Step 4: once your application to AIM has been accepted, request through ask.unimelb for your enrolment to be changed at Melbourne to reflect that you will be doing this overseas study.
