Program Description:
Korea University - January School
Korea University (KU) is offering a four week January School of classes, complemented by a range of fully inclusive social activities, designed for international students.  The topics covered include Korean language, Marketing, Mathematics, Physics, Business, History, Psychology, Film Studies, and Cultural Studies.  A full list of subject options is available here.

The January School is made up of two sessions running from Thursday 28 December, 2017 to Friday 2 February, 2018.*
*It is possible for students to participate in one or both sessions, but Session 2 is a cultural (not for credit) option.

How much does it cost?
The January School is open to students as both exchange and study abroad.  The difference is that students choosing exchange pay their usual tuition fees to the University of Melbourne.  They will only pay housing and other program costs to KU up-front.  Study abroad students must pay the tuition costs as well as housing and other program costs to KU directly at the time of being accepted.  Further information is available here.

The fee for exchange students will be to cover accommodation costs only.
The fee for study abroad will be approximately A$1,950 (US$1,550) + accommodation for one session, or A$3,671 (US$2,920) + accommodation costs for both sessions.**

**Costs do not include airfares; interested students are responsible for funding their associated travel to get to the host institution. Australian dollar rates are as at 24 July 2017.

How much credit can be earned?
Each subject in the January School is worth three Korean credits.  Students must take at least four Korean credits to earn 12.5 points from their study in the January School.  You must, however, get your overseas study plan approved for credit to your degree here before leaving Melbourne, and students are encouraged to have multiple subjects approved to provide themselves with maximum flexibility.

Accommodation is available for participating students for an additional cost to the academic program.  Please click here for more information.

How to proceed?
It is your responsibility to ensure you meet any eligiblity conditions set out by the host institution; this may include any academic requirement, language proficiency test, or previous study.

You must be nominated by the Global Mobility office to participate in the programme after ensuring you meet the standard short -term overseas study eligibility criteria.

To begin, apply using the application link above.  Do NOT apply directly to KU.  When your application has been assessed and approved here, you will be contacted by the Global Mobility office with instructions about completing the host institution application.
